(Y)ears of Change

Global climate data allow us to better understand the rapidly changing environment. (Y)ears of Change, an ambisonic data sonification installation, employs data sets of global glacial mass, world sea level measurements, and global temperature readings to control and manipulate the spatial placement of sound events throughout the composition. (Y)oC evokes emotions of stress and mounting pressure in its listeners to convey a sense of urgency and impending danger.

This project was created in collaboration with Jake Schmitt, Aaron Peppel, Dan Brunk, and Tessa DeHart and was accepted into the Hokin gallery in Chicago.

Enjoy with Headphones.
